Batomon Showdown Batodex and Types: How to Read a Batomon
The Batopedia has four tabs, and 1.0 added type and rarity filters plus a "???" tab for event Batomon and Mythicals. Here is the rarity ladder and how types work.

The Batopedia is the in-game compendium, split across four tabs: Batomon, Trinket, Item and Trainer. From 1.0.0 it filters by type and rarity, shows full evolution chains for multi-stage lines, and keeps event Batomon and Mythicals in their own ”???” tab.
Rarity runs from Common up through Uncommon, Rare, Super Rare, Legendary and Mythical. Mythical is a tier above Legendary and never appears in the normal shop. Types are more than labels too: plenty of abilities target allies by type, and others count how many different types your team has.
The rarity ladder
| Rarity | What it means in practice |
|---|---|
| Common / Uncommon | Early-game bodies: cheap and easy to merge up to level 2 and 3 |
| Rare / Super Rare | Where a run pivots in the mid game, and where engine pieces start appearing |
| Legendary | Late-game cores, usually carrying a strong on-cast or on-victory effect |
| Mythical | Above Legendary, never in the normal shop, reached through special trainers, trinkets and events |
Rarity is not a direct measure of strength. What it governs first is the odds of appearing in the shop, and shop rank climbs with the day, so rare units are naturally scarce on day 1. In the other direction, a completed level 3 common is often worth more in the mid game than a level 1 rare you just picked up.
How types shape your team
The types explicitly referenced by effects today are Fire, Water, Electric, Toxic, Flying, Rock, Grass and Bug. Official patch notes separately label Ironcore as Steel, and creator footage has shown Fighting in ability text; that last one rests on live play alone, since the full type list has never been published.
Types matter on three levels.
Type-targeted buffs, such as giving heals to adjacent Water units or burn to all Fire units. These effects care about the type, not which specific creature it is.
Type counting, where an ability scales with how many different types you have. A single-type team misses out on these.
Added types. Chef gives single-typed units Fire typing, and Painter and some events add types too. Added types survive both merges and transformations.
The three stickers in the Batopedia
Each Batomon entry carries three achievement stickers.
The trophy is earned by winning a championship with that Batomon. The medal is earned by winning one with that species at level 3 or higher. The star is earned by winning one with its Shiny form.
If you already managed any of these during the playtest or demo period, the developer grants them retroactively. None of them affect gameplay, but they do decide whether you will hold a slot open just to light one up.
Reading an entry
Right-clicking is the most direct route. From 1.0.0, right-clicking any Batomon in the shop, in battle, on an event screen or inside the Batopedia opens an inspect sheet with full stats, the ability and the evolution chain.
Use the filters to find something specific. The Batopedia filters by type or rarity, which suits lookups like “a Water unit that evolves”.
Event Batomon and Mythicals live under the ”???” tab and will not appear in the ordinary tabs. Each entry also shows collection counters, so you can see what you are still missing, and the gaps are usually in events or Mythicals.
Judging whether a stat is still current
This is the easiest trap to fall into when reading third-party resources. Three checks help.
Look at the version the source claims. Community databases state which build and balance version they imported. A catalogue marked “Balance 14” or “build 24914580” predates 1.0.0 and does not include Jinto content.
Read Patch Notes in the main menu. The screen added in 1.0.0 tells you which patch you are on.
Read live values from the inspect sheet. Numbers in screenshots may come from an older build, while the panel reads your current run.
One more thing worth stating plainly: the developer has not published a Batomon total for the post-1.0.0 build. The 88 listed on a community database come from an older imported build and exclude Jinto, so this site does not treat that figure as the current count.
